Asia
Asian stocks fell, tracking declines in the US as fresh turmoil over a sudden shakeup in President Donald Trump’s administration dampened investor sentiment.
US
US stocks fell, as the technology and financial sectors came under pressure even as investors mostly shrugged off President Donald Trump’s decision to replace Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
UK
UK stocks declined, having been steady up until midday, the FTSE 100 fell 1.1% to finish at 7,138.78, where it was last Wednesday morning.
Headlines
Chancellor Philip Hammond has unveiled upgraded projections for growth and predicted falling inflation and borrowing in his Spring Statement. He claimed the UK economy had reached a turning point and there was “light at the end of the tunnel”.
The UK’s fourth-biggest supermarket chain Morrisons has announced an 11% jump in full-year profits as it continues its turnaround programme.
